Areola reconstruction
Three-dimensional reconstruction of the areola and nipple after mastectomy.
Areola dermopigmentation, also known as areola tattooing, recreates the colour and shape of the areola and nipple, or softens the scars around them.
Who it is for
- After a mastectomy and breast reconstruction, to rebuild one or both areolas.
- After a breast lift (mastopexy), on inverted "T" scars.
- After breast surgery (mammoplasty), on the scars around the areola.
- For an areola that is too pale (hypopigmentation) or small.
When
- With the go-ahead of the surgeon or oncologist.
- Once the scars have settled.
How
- A three-dimensional areola, with the nipple, is designed together with the client, choosing colour, size and position.
- The work is completed in one or more sessions.
- Resorbable pigments are usually used; permanent pigments only in rare cases.
